DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a nine-amino-acid neuropeptide first isolated from cerebral venous blood during slow-wave sleep. In the laboratory it is used as a reference ligand for sleep-architecture, circadian-rhythm and neuroendocrine-signalling research, where its interactions with delta-wave and stress-response pathways are studied across pre-clinical models.
